Visited a "wide deck carrier" Xin Guang Hua at the invitation of the shipping company.
This ship was docked in Vlissingen to remove the grillage from an earlier job. Always very impressive to see.
The deck measures 240 by 65 meters! it can sink 32 meters to allow ships to sail on it (Flo/FLo, float on float off) and carry 100,000 Tons of cargo.
It doesn't get bigger than this! The reason for visiting was to get an impression of the shipping company that will ship the Furnaces (5,600Ton/each) of my project from Thailand to Antwerp.
Tour was very interesting, especially below deck to see how all ballast systems work. Of course, also been on the bridge and in the "canteen" for a good lunch.
